CONTINUING THE LEGACY OF COMMUNITY CARING SPIRIT (GANESAN)

"With his trademark fedora and infectious voice, Ganesan was a familiar face at SCC FSC’s community events. He was the life of the party and was also the community’s ‘go-to’ emcee. He was always eager and ready entertain jthe crowd and elicit laughter from everyone present.

“I have the gift of the gab. How can I keep it all to myself? My passion is to share my joy and positivity to those around me. We must spread love and strengthen our community,” he once said.

Ganesan was also blessed with a generous heart. He once gave SCC a huge 10-seater table outside Goodwill Xchange, in hopes that the table would be placed somewhere the neighbourhood could gather to eat, laugh and build relationships.

In January 2020, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. Throughout his cancer treatment, he kept an unwaveringly optimistic outlook, undeterred by his condition. Sadly, he passed on in early 2021.

In one of our last conversations with him, he remarked that his motivation was always to help others, no matter who they are. He wished for his life's motto to be the legacy he leaves behind for the community.

To this very day, Ganesan's legacy and zeal for community service continues to inspire those touched by his passion for life and his dedication to the people around him.
