#SABI Project (SMALL ACTS, BIG IMPACT Project)

Start Date: 28 November 2022; End Date: 31 March 2023

Just as Singapore (and the rest of the world) is slowly recovering from the pre-pandemic levels of economic activity, we are hit by another “pandemic” – rising inflation and living costs. While mainstream families have additional resources such as disposable incomes to cushion and minimise its impact, the same cannot be said of vulnerable communities, where a significant portion of their income goes into food and other commodities.

The #SABI Project aims to provide interim support to all vulnerable communities, including those whose livelihood is impacted by sudden life events arising from post-pandemic recovery and rising inflation costs. Funds raised shall go towards helping the family tide over their difficult times while the FSC works with them on other interventions during this period so that they do not spiral deeper into destitution.

WeCare As One ("WECARE")

Start Date: 1 May 2024; End Date: 30 April 2025

Putting food on the table, paying the bills, and just getting by are daily challenges faced by the families under our FSC's care, where 80% reside in one or two-room HDB rental flats.

Funds raised will enable us to continue our work with the families, directly or with charity partners, to increase their social mobility and empower them to be positively transformed.

Many low-income families face a greater risk of psychological and financial distress when challenged with unexpected crises such as retrenchment or sudden illness. DID YOU KNOW that majority of the vulnerable families in Singapore are low-wage earners?

With Covid-19, many of these families’ livelihood were significantly affected. For instance, of the 500 families under SCC’s care, the month of April alone saw more than 120 families affected by the pandemic, and the numbers are steadily increasing – almost close to 100% of the families saw their employment income reduced while more than 40% had at least one breadwinner lost employment. Many of these families have young children 12 years and below. Please give to Project C.C.O.V.I.D. so that everyone has enough!
