#SABI Project (SMALL ACTS, BIG IMPACT Project)

Start Date: 28 November 2022; End Date: 31 March 2023

Just as Singapore (and the rest of the world) is slowly recovering from the pre-pandemic levels of economic activity, we are hit by another “pandemic” – rising inflation and living costs. While mainstream families have additional resources such as disposable incomes to cushion and minimise its impact, the same cannot be said of vulnerable communities, where a significant portion of their income goes into food and other commodities.

The #SABI Project aims to provide interim support to all vulnerable communities, including those whose livelihood is impacted by sudden life events arising from post-pandemic recovery and rising inflation costs. Funds raised shall go towards helping the family tide over their difficult times while the FSC works with them on other interventions during this period so that they do not spiral deeper into destitution.

The Families Transformation Fund

Start Date: 6 December 2022; End Date: 31 March 2023

SCC’s vision of Poverty Transformation With-in Empowered Communities defines our priorities and underpins our focus and work with vulnerable communities. For the next generation to break out from the poverty cycle, we work with families in vulnerable communities to increase their social mobility and financial self-sufficiency.

Through this campaign, funds raised will enable us to carry out transformative work with vulnerable families and their communities, directly or with our charity partners, that includes uplifting and empowering more families and enact real change.

Leave No One Behind

Start Date: 6 December 2022; End Date: 31 March 2023

SCC’s reason for existence is to provide help and support to vulnerable communities under our FSC’s care. While we support our families through casework management and other funded programmes, there emerged a need to aid to serve our vulnerable communities during difficult periods that affect their livelihood.

Through this campaign, funds raised shall be used to supporting the affected vulnerable communities, including unanticipated expenses like emergency funds, interim support for ad-hoc project(s) and complement areas that are not covered in SCC’s existing programmes and ensure that the vulnerable are adequately supported and do not spiral into a deeper and more serious condition.

DID YOU KNOW that majority of the vulnerable families in Singapore are low-wage earners?

With Covid-19, many of these families’ livelihood were significantly affected. For instance, of the 500 families under SCC’s care, the month of April alone saw more than 120 families affected by the pandemic, and the numbers are steadily increasing – almost close to 100% of the families saw their employment income reduced while more than 40% had at least one breadwinner lost employment. Many of these families have young children 12 years and below. Please give to Project C.C.O.V.I.D. so that everyone has enough!
