Mr Anuar, is a father of 7 children living in the Bukit Ho Swee area. His next-door neighbour, Mdm Lai, is an elderly who recently faced mobility issues. Mr Anuar would go down to the Beo Crescent Market & Food Centre daily to buy food for Mdm Lai. He would often accompany Mdm Lai and assist her to walk when she shops for groceries at the nearby NTUC Supermarket. Right now, Mdm Lai requires a wheelchair and Mr Anuar is trying his best to get one for her.
When asked what motivates Mr Anuar in these acts of kindness, he said “I do it sincerely and I do not expect anything in return. Today it is my turn to help my neighbour, one day I never know when I need the same help as well.” Mdm Lai also reciprocates by giving Mr Anuar’s family household items that she has. She says Mr Anuar is a good man and she “sayang” him very much.
