Every parent's dream is to see their children flourish and achieve success in life.
This was the case with Siti Wahidah, affectionately known as Wawa.
We met her when one of her elementary school-aged daughters registered in one of our weekly Learning Kampung (LK) homework and tutoring support sessions.
Wawa was a committed mother. She would check in with her children while walking them to their weekly LK sessions.
While she waited for their classes to be done, she would take the opportunity to speak to the SCC staff members at hand for guidance to on how to further support her children’s education needs.
Wawa believes that education is the surest road to economic independence. Her daughters have been regularly receiving weekly homework assistance, and one has even begun participating in weekly extra curriculum art classes sponsored by an SCC corporate sponsor.
In addition, Wawa's steadfast commitment to education has even spread to the community. Through her community work, she regularly aids neighbours who do not have time to accompany their children to the centre for LK lessons. This is her way of giving back to the community in return for the help and support she got from volunteers throughout her own children's educational journeys.
